Chill Weekend in Rome

Thursday night was pizza night, which was pretty much a success considering what our kitchen contains. It was something other than pasta that was relatively easy that we could all have fun making and was ok for veagans.

Friday we went to Sapienza, the public Italian university. It was interesting to see how things are different between schools here in Italy and home in the US. Friday night we went out for dinner (the first time since getting here). We went to this place called Life, some of the girls had gone before. We then walked around, got gelato, and went to Piazza Navona.


Saturday’s expedition was to find Chinatown, we heard rumors that it was near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. We found Little India, not Chinatown, but we did find some random Chinese restaurants and just chose one. I don’t think it was that great and the service was really bad. I think that next time we want some Chinese food we are going to just look for a place in the city center. We did see the Trevi Fountain though on the way back. It is really crowded.

Saturday night we hung out, got some wine and watched Moulin Rouge. We did plan on going out, like to Campo di Fiori, but it started to rain, not just drizzle but thunder lightening, the whole nine yards. So we all stayed in and had a good time.

Sunday Isabel and I went to Porta Portese, which is a huge flea market in Trasterve. It was like Rices only bigger. There were still knockoffs everywhere; sunglasses and handbags, which explains why so many people have them. We each got an umbrella (which has come in handy since) and Cat sunglasses because hers broke. Funny thing is that the imitation aviators look the same the Coach ones, success!
